…well, sort of 🙂
One of the most common questions and most popular post topics on the Bitcointalk forums is faucets and giveaways. So what are they? Do they work? Can I get paid?
Short answer: They’re free bitcoin sites, they do work (the ones below anyway), and yes you can get paid. It’s not very much though, and you won’t be buying a Lamborghini anytime soon with the proceeds, but they’re fun! Here are my three favourites:
Free bitcoins with multiplier, my favourite. Referrals can be very good for this site.
An unlimited faucet where you play games against others – alot of fun!
Visit every hour for free Bitcoin. Awards vary depending on time of day – can be quite rewarding
All of them have one thing in common – to get paid you have to hit their payout threshold, which in fairness can take a while. One way to boost what you make is referrals. A referral is when you cause someone to visit the site (and use it) via your own personal link. All of the above are referral links, and if you hover over them, you’ll see that they all have numbers following the URLs. These are my personal links, and when you use them, I get a few Satoshis extra. Freebitco.in for example is getting quite a lot of hits on my referral link now, and when I looked at it this morning I had over 6000 Satoshis, as opposed to the 200-ish you can claim each hour. A good place to put these links is in your forum sig, or obviously if you run a site you can put up a banner, as above.
TL;DR: You won’t earn a lot, but you’ll get a little bit of Bitcoin to play with, which you can take onto an exchange and maybe increase a bit. It’s a great way to learn!
